Thank you, I really wish you had some more info though, it's goofy how inconsistent the hit-reg and everything else is here lately.
I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure what I can do to fix it on my end, but I just don't think it's me or my internet or PC.
I have updated, rebooted, reset, cleared caches and cleaned everything I can think of, I'm stumped.
@TwentyValve, there's in in-game option to disable cross-play, if you want to give that a try.
- 3 years ago@EA_Leeuw the issue with that is it only matches me up with others that have it off, which is pretty much no one, because its on by default. if they could make it off by default, it would be far better. this could be a good way to test the issues, cause as of now, there isn't enough non cross play players to use as a good test.

I think I should start recording.
Today I was killed by a DMR while behind a container (not peeking) and in the killcam he was 20 meters (or so) to the left of the container on the opposite side of me. From my perspective he shot me through the container. This was the worst thing I've ever tried in 2042 (my reaction was ALT-F4).

Is the game still bad in netcode? Why do I get 6 hits from the client side and only 3 from the server side in the first segment of the video?
In the second segment, everything is good: 4 hits from the client side and 4 from the server side.

Maybe this is due to "collecting of damage", but this problem has been around for many years.

I could not understand why it felt like I was shooting paintballs while the enemy was insta-killing me. With the damage log, I can see that not all of my hits are getting to the server even with a good ping and no packet loss.
For me, this occurs all the time unless I am using a Marksmanship Rifle or Sniper rifle. Anything with a relatively high RoF will have hits missed at the server.
My theory is it has to do with the server tick rate (45Hz) and if they went to 30 or 60 we would not be having as many problems.- sk1lld3 years agoLegend
I was killed today half a second after getting behind a container. The guy was around the corner so it's obvious he killed me before I rounded the corner. It took nearly a second to register. This needs to be fixed.
