i have searched this forum and also watched numerous YT videos trying to fix this.
I completed a new mobo/ram/cpu and have everything working on new system. CANNOT get 2042 to recognize horizontal mouse input. Only way to move horizontal is to use arrow keys.
I have done a complete wipe and re-download, did the file delete for the notepad files, im not sure what else to do. Please help
Have you tried deleting or moving the Battlefield 2042 folder in Documents? Deleting this folder will reset all the game settings.

I ended up getting it working by using device manager and disabling "xbox 360 controller"
Never would have thought of that because I don't own or even use a controller, and this is a brand new MOBO.
Anyways, for anyone who may have this problem, just verify via device manager that there isnt some ghost Xbox controller in your devices
I remember this bug, i had it few years ago. It comes and goes..Its there potatoe server
Does your PC have Bluetooth? Maybe its a neighbors controller your pc picked up.
