"LAN cable not connected"

Ever since Season 3 dropped I cannot play a full game because I keep getting disconnected with "LAN cable not connected" popping up on the screen and then it is quickly followed by "LAN cable connected". Only does this on 2042. Anyone else have this problem?

On the PS5, this is most often fixed by doing these two things in sequence:

    1. Update Console System Software in Safe Boot Mode
    2. Rebuild PS5 Database & Clear System Software Cache

There is a helpful article here about this exact problem on PS5 and the detailed steps and screenshots on how to go through to fix it:

In very unfortunate circumstances, then a corruption appears in the system software code area on your PS5 boot drive.  And this can then cause this unfortunate error situation where it keeps toggling between LAN cable connected/LAN cable disconnected.

Yes, it can of course also be because of other issues, but suggest you try first step 1 and 2 above, to see if that would solve it for you.  Otherwise proceed with the next options as described in the article.

    Best of luck with it!

I just got on Saturday to play for the first time in a while and got this error again. No other game does this except BF2042.

    1.  I wish so badly this worked for me, but unfortunately, it did not. For me, it's all games though, even streaming apps. Thanks for your suggestion and I hope it'll stop with an update or something!
