PC and Controller Options

Today I wanted to play Battlefield 2042 using my switch pro controller. All I wanted was to use gyro aiming as I did back when I played played BF1 and BFV. 

I only wanted gyro aiming to be enabled when I aim down sights and aim assist turned off. Other wise I'd play the game on a controller like normal. I play games through the EA App (RIP Origins). I thought that I could add BF2042 to my Steam library and use Steam's overlay, that didn't work. The button mapping was waaaay off. I tried added EADesktop which had the same result. I'm stumped. Firstly, I'd like to ask DICE to add native support for controllers like the DualSense and Nintendo Switch controllers so that folks can use gyro aiming. Secondly, if DICE doesn't add gyro aiming, then does anyone know how to get Steam overlay to work on BF2042?
