[PC] BF crashing instantly at first loading screen

Hi, I have problem with battlefield 2042, I was playing in BF 6 open beta, then I though I'm gonna try BF 2042, unfortunately I can't make it work.

It crashing almost instantly at first loading screen.

CrashDump file in attachment

My PC spec:

CPU - i7-14700HX

RAM - 32 GB

GPU - RTX 4070M - drivers 580.97

Windows 11 x64 - fresh, I have format in this month

Wtah I was trying to do to fix this:

  1. check the integrity of the game files in STEAM - twice
  2. launching game trough EA app, not STEAM
  3. Deleting windows defender completely, using windows-defender-remover (from github)
  4. Looking new bios for my laptop - already have lastest
  5. Then I installed WinDbg to check what is inside dump files - and it is sth related to nvidia drivers
  6. I uninstalled nvidia drivers with DDU and try to run game on my intel HD integrated card, game boot successfully, but fps was extremely low
  7. After that I installed lastest drivers 580.97 (previously they were 580.88) - and I installed it with NVCleanstall - without all unnecessary things - but game still crashing
  • Hey everyone I think I found a solution. At least it works for me. Install your graphics driver version 577.00.

I had the same problem. I wish I had seen this topic before deleting the game :'( I was able to play before, but I think it was related to the GPU update.

The same thing happens to me. When I open BF2042, the game closes automatically and I get a message from the EA APP, with an error "Some features have been disabled because the EA app was launched from another location." And then it closes in 1 second and sends me to the EA APP home page. I've tried all the possible solutions, reinstalled the EA APP, reinstalled BF2042, run as administrator, and it doesn't work. I can't enter the game. I started BFV to see if it was a general problem, but no, BFV did work for me.

Confirmed working after downgrading to Nvidia 577.00

    Thanks :)

  • Same basic issue....  The most common issue in the crash log is:  WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for eaanticheat.sys

I've even rebuilt my computer from scratch and have no other programs installed and have issues.

Verify your timezone, date and time in windows settings

by the way, If the error persists, you should create a separate topic, here we are talking about a crash related to the latest nvidia drivers
