Summarize your bug When playing on controller all of sudden the camera will pan up to the sky, happens about every 2 minutes or so, I die alot due to this issue
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I resynced my controller, looked up other ways to solve it by not having a keyboard or mouse plugged in, didnt help. works fine on other games so i know its not on my end
What happens when the bug occurs? The player will look to the sky, no matter what you are doing
What should be happening instead? Looking forward

  • So I think i fixed the issue, What i did was selected the battlefield on steam, went to properties, controller and unchecked steam input, so far is has solved my issue, hope it works for everyone else.

  • I'm on the Series X,
Using the new Victrix Gambit controller, and thought I was going crazy or my new controller was busted. LOL

I tested my controller on it's own app and the gamepad-tester.com site. It has Zero stick drift issues at all. Just randomly happens in this game only.
It starts turning to the right then goes up to the sky like its magnetized.

I tend to try and run on a 0-5 deadzone to get me sticks to feel as agile as possible. On the midnight release I don't think I experienced it at all, it started to happen on the Friday afternoon and get more frequent over the weekend. I tried raising the deadzones back to default, but it still kept happening.

Even if I put the deadzone at 0 and dont touch the right stick, it doesn't move in game at all. There is no stick drift present. But as soon as I start to use the left stick and run forward a few meters, while still not touching the right stick, it starts to happen, does a 180-360 spin and goes to the sky. When it happens and my thumb is on the right stick It feels like an aim assist pull on the sticks not a slight drift.

So I don't think this is just a PC issue.

  • @The5amKebab I read somewhere that the mouse might be interfering somehow and the game will recognize the mouse for that split second and move your aim to the sky or ground. I started to fiddle with the mouse and keyboard options and decided to shut that off just randomly and I stopped experiencing that bug. Only thing is that it turns on every game so at the beginning I have to turn it off.
  • This is not a solution but a workaround meanwhile the bug is fixed:

Steam have two type of controller configurations, Desktop type and Big Picture Type. If you connect a controller and open the game it will use the Desktop controller. [I'm using a PS5 Controller] so I need to go to Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings and check the box that says Playstation Configuration Support in order to use the Desktop controller config. (note that the controller is listed in the Detected Controllers). Now if you open the game normally [Non big Screen Mode] the game will map and render the XBox buttons and the bug will happen on game, this is because its using the default mapping on the Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> Desktop Configuration Config.. For now, the only thing you can change to play the game without the issue is Browse in that screen for the config in the Templates section that says "Keyboard (WASD) and Mouse" and apply this config. The issue happens with any controller type mapping but not as a Keyboard mapping.

  • Me too. Happens like every 2-5 seconds. Can’t even play the game because of it

  • I'm having this problem too. The only workaround is to turn off "Raw mouse input" but the only downside to this is that it resets back to on every time it goes back to the lobby menu after every game so you have to turn this off after every damn game. This needs a fix!!
