I can't come up with exact steps to make this happen. The problem is intermittent, but happens more frequently than it does not.
Was playing on the new map and I sent the Ranger to a location by holding down Q (my Commo Rose bind) and tapping E (my Move Forward bind, also what the game wants me to use for controlling the Ranger) and the Ranger started making the self destruct noises and then exploded.
On the same map, with a different Ranger, I repeated the exact same steps and the Ranger went to my spotted location. This happens when double-tapping E as well to try and return the Ranger to my location and follow me. Sometimes it behaves, other times it wants to commit suicide for no reason.

I would suggest trying to rebind the "interact" key to not overlap with your walking key...- Critstopher3 years agoNew Ace
The "Interact" key (currently bound to Middle Mouse for me) doesn't even come into play here for controlling the Ranger. It's hard-coded to E, which is now my Move Forward bind; and I'm not changing that.
I've posted before about separating out the Ranger control keys so we could use a different bind, but nothing ever came from that. Also, double-tapping "E" to return the Ranger to me rarely works.
