Re: ‎ID_PC_CORRUPT_SAVE_BODY ERROR

What solutions have you tried?

The error likely relates to your Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings\PROFSAVE_profile file. Removing the file entirely will allow the game to rebuild the file, at cost of wiping any custom settings or keybinds you've set.

Also a chance that it has affected your PROFSAVE file. Removing this will cause the game to reload the intro mission (3-flag Hourglass CQ, limited kits and vehicles) and some other settings that aren't kept in PROFSAVE_profile.

Your progression is kept separately from both files, so you'll have all of your unlocks still unlocked.

You're a life saver, I deleted the PROFSAVE_profile file and it did nothing, so I also deleted the PROFSAVE file and then launched it and it worked! i've been out of the game for 4 days, thanks 🙂

Does anyone else have any other fixes for this error? I bought this game + The Premium Battlepass for my son on his birthday so he could play online with me and he is most upset because he cannot play the game due to this error. Mine works fine but he keeps getting this frustrating error and as he is Autistic it's impossible to explain to him why he cannot play his game.

I tried the directions to delete that PROFSAVE file but it still doesn't work. I've also tried clearing cache, uninstalling the game, and doing a fresh install but nothing is fixing it.

His pc is a lot newer than mine. He is running Win 11 and mine is running Win 10. Does that make any difference?

Thanks for your reply. Before I saw your answer I decided to reload windows 11 via the Reset Pc Function. Once I've reinstalled Win and the game again hopefully the issue will disappear. I shall keep you informed.

@BlacklesonI started having this error today. I've tried all the solutions suggested in this thread short of reinstalling Windows, which is a little too radical for me, and reinstalling 2042 which I might try. I tried using the repair utility from this new EA app and it ran for about 10 seconds and just said ready to play. I knew that was garbage. The old Origin utility was much more comprehensive in terms of what you could do. It would actually verify your file structures and look for corruption. This EA app is a shadow of the former and I wish they would restore the previous capabilities. At any rate I still get the ID_PC_CORRUPT_SAVE_BODY ERROR error. The first time I tried to run 2042 this morning it completely crashed to PC and caused it to restart. Up to now 2042 has been reliable from day #1. The new patch went on yesterday and I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
