No, I knew what you meant and run nothing like that. Idk why you think I can pc game for more than twenty years and not get the gist of your query. No overlays @EA_Atic For the record I began pc gaming in 1993 and sold all my consoles to pay for pc parts in 2003. 

Looks like closing Edge solved most of issues.

I've never launched edge on this computer or the one before it. 

@EA_Atic was there ever a fix for this? I still get the same issue. 

1/5 times I alt+tab out of the game and alt+tab and win+tab no longer function/don't trigger the windows selection, nor can I activate 2042 by clicking the taskbar icon, it just flashes orange. If I kill 2042 from task manager functionality returns to normal. 

No other game or application causes this.

@EA_Atic unfortunately this is still a problem. It didn't occur for 1-2 weeks but now is prevalent again. This was before 1.2 released, so I don't know if there was a sneaky hotfixed released?

It is currently season 2 of the game and im still having the issue.

@EA_Atic I have a new motherboard + cpu and have reinstalled the game and clean reinstalled the nvidia drivers and this is still an issue. 
It doesn't happen often, but is incredibly annoying. Also, it can prevent you switching to task manager, which is the only way to kill the 2042 process and free up your computer, essentially locking your machine.

I wiped the system and returned to windows 10, first thing I tried after fresh nVidia drivers and the other drivers and the associated restarts I fired up 2042 and... The issue still persists. This is hilariously incompetent. At this point you should pay the old dice employees whatever it takes to make a remake of an older one.

Hello, I may have the solution. 

Go to your Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings

In the PROFSAVE_profile you have GstRender.WindowBordersEnable 0? if so, try to set it to 1?

If not, you may have GstRender.FullscreenScreen -1 (try setting it to 0)

WindowBordersEnable is already 1 for me and I have this issue.

Yea I'm also having this issue, honestly didn't find anything yet to fix it. Sometimes when I alt tab windows bar stops working and can't alt tab/get into the game without ending the BF2042 process...

Happens for me too still. I'm not running Discord overlay. Already reinstalled GPU drivers...

This game is acting strange again. First I thought that something wrong with my keyboard. Unplugged and re insert back my keyboard cable but the issue did not resolve at all. Strangely I could not even ALT TAB to any opened windows tab. I had to kill this BF2042 only then everything is back to normal. This is the only game I purchased with all sorts of stupid problems. 

Same problem here. First time encountering this. I also thought maybe it's a keyboard bug or Windows related.

Already had other issues like 100% CPU usage during game. 

Horrendous optimization. Constant technical difficulties. Game is a sham.  

Same here. It only happens with 2042. BFV and any other Steam game I play works fine. When this happens I have to CTR+ALT+DEL and forcefully close 2042. Clicking on 2042 on the task bar or switch to inside task manager does do anything.

After not having this problem for ~6 months, I reinstalled 2042, including deleting the folder in mydocs. Now getting this problem again.

There's clearly a setting somewhere that is causing this.
