Re: Battlefield 2042 micro stuttering when running

Since the new update of #2.1 I am getting constant Micro-stuttering and terrible hit registration on targets. I can unload an entire M5A3 clip (30 rounds) into someone 10m away, get only 2 hits, and then die. This is no exaggeration this actually happened. It's like this for all guns. The micro-stuttering makes the game unplayable and I'm basically shooting blanks since the new update. My KD is 3.4 in my profile, I'm an above-average player now I can barely get 1.0 Kd since the update. Something is broken since the update.

Things I've tried since the update to resolve the problem many people appear to be having since the update:

- Rolled back graphics driver

- Repaired the game folder

- Clean boot

- Deleted cache

- Deleted profile (config file)

- Reinstalled the latest graphics driver 517.48

- Rebooted model and NBN router

- Got ISP provider to reset all my connection settings on their end.

- Disabled GeForce Experience overlay and NVIDIA FrameView SDK service

Game settings are all set to low - Hz is set to the same as my monitor and so is the resolution - no overclock to my graphics card.

System specs:

NBN: 100/20

Asus Strix 3080 Ti OC 12GB

Ryzen 5950x

SSD 980 Pro x 2

32gb cl-14 memory at 3600mhz

  • Hello, all information is listed above that you have requested. Please read the full thread. Dx document is also attached. I have tried your suggestions already 'clean boot'. I will get a network screenshot and FPS count for you today. After I turned off the Nvidia service it is working better. Still happening but not as often now.

  • image attached with all network settings on and FPS - 175

Is it happening with any other games?

does the in-game network graph show the CFT fluctuating or stable?

have you tried limiting the FPS to a value below your monitors refresh and below your average FPS to see if it makes a difference?

have you tried turning the in-game future frame rendering option on/off? i was getting stuttering, and turning off FFR fixed this for me

have you tried an internet quality test? try DSLreports.com

Are you running windows 11 and did you update to 22h2 at the same time as updating bf2042 to 2.1? the new windows 11 update has some issues with Nvidia cards, not sure if it’s been resolved yet.

Did you clean uninstall the Geforce driver using DDU uninstaller before you installed the new driver?
