Re: BF2042 Crashing Mid game with no error.


I find-out that it related to the XMP, specifically XMP 2.0.
To Solve it try to set the XMP to 1 or Auto.
I notice this after my mobo had a bios update, all the values deleted and reconfigure one by one later (Turn on the XMP2) the random crash began.
So changing it for Auto manage to fix it so far.
Hope EA will fix it, we are goddam in the 2023!

    @Shl0mpi is youre memory compatybile with youire cpu?
    Check the memory QVL for answers !

    @Rokebo73 Yeah buddy, this is brand new PC with i7 12 generation and DDR5 compatible.
    This is the only game that crash when use XMP2 all other game work perfectly.

    @Shl0mpi  OK , lets check if i can see anything for you.
    Post youre DXDIAG please , also do this:

    Memory check part specs

    Press Windows key + 'R' ,typ CMD
    Press and hold down CTRL + SHIFT and press ENTER.
    When User Account Control shows up, click Yes.
    Now enter this command:

    wmic /output:C:\mb_mem_bios_info.txt memorychip list full&wmic /append:C:\mb_mem_bios_info.txt baseboard get product, Manufacturer&wmic /append:C:\mb_mem_bios_info.txt bios get smbiosbiosversion

    At youre C: drive there is now a file called mb_mem_bios_info.txt post this file please !!!

    @Shl0mpi  It seems mem is in the QVL for youre cpu i7 12700k
    ya did flash bios i see , did you also do this ?

    @Shl0mpi   ok, lets do a ram test, get 1 module out , and test game with only 1 ram module at youre system to find out if ya got faulty ram !
    Test both of the ram modules seperatly in/at youre system !

    If 1 is faulty/broken (or even maybe both) youre able to see this. Cause mem test software doesnt always showup errors !!

    Get 1 ram module out and test game, then replace it for the other one to test !

    just to check if ya got unlucky in the cilicon lottery 😉

    if 1 is broken , return/swap them both for new ones, RMA it !

    I just finish teseting every single stick on the Slot A2 with XMP2 Enable.
    I have to say that no crashing this time, and i played 30 min at least every time.
    before it was crash after 10 min

    Now i plug back the 2 ticks and let see.

    @Shl0mpi sometime a reseat modules could help also ! maybe you got lucky and there was just a bad module connection some how !
    Or youre bios got it correctly identified it now !

    @Shl0mpi Try lowering your cpu frequency. I had the same thing, even at the base memory frequency of 2400 the game crashed (also somewhere in the middle of the game, after about 20 minutes). Reduced the CPU clock by 100 MHz (in my case from 5.1 to 5.0) and bumped the memory clock to 3600. No more crashes.

    @pecmeserp No, that's not the point. It has become stable, but still very rarely crashes without errors. In particular, this error may be the result of an anti-cheat that tries to get where it doesn't need to, or as a result of poor memory management on the part of the game itself.

    @pecmeserp hey man,
    MEMORY_CORRUPTION_LARGE_c0000005_memory_corruption
    is a very common error/issue , not only in/for eac or bf2042.
    If ya google for this error then ya will see it can be "everything".
