Re: BF2042 Fails to Launch

I've done the file scanner with Steam and it came back clean, I've also done uninstall and reinstall. I also followed a tech page where i deleted a bunch of Origin source files and redownloaded them, I've also disabled all overlays still no luck. I've checked all my drivers and they they are the most up to date I can get. 

WOW, it appears the clean boot did it. Thank you so much! You were more helpful than the 2 weeks I've spend with EA's * Tech Support!

@EA_Atic Hi, I am having the exact same problem this person was having as well. I tried a clean boot, repairing EAC, repairing BF2042, and uninstalling and reinstalling the game twice now. I've tried everything everybody recommended and nothing seems to work. I just want to play the game:/

Me too, the game will launch sometimes and then I get an error saying "easy-cheat" has an issue,  this has only been a problem since the latest patch.  This game is becoming more trouble than it's worth.

Totally agree! From day one I've had problems launching this game. Now, I'm getting the same issue as you all on this thread.

I've done everything that everyone else tried without any joy.

I do enjoy playing this game, but you nailed it Col when you said it was becoming more trouble than it's worth.

The last post was 3 weeks ago. Have any of you been contacted and given a solution?

Thanks for coming back to me Rokebo, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply! Most times the EasyCheat popup appears, then disappears, then nothing.... When that doesn't happen, I get the CreateFile failed with 32 error (which has only started happening in the last week)

I've uninstalled and reinstalled onto a different SSD drive, several times.

I've tried the clean boot.

I've tried other solutions such as setting the EasyCheat process startup to Automatic instead of the default Manual.

I've gone through the process of doing a full removal of Origin (reg entries etc...)

Best as I can tell my drivers are up to date.

etc...

I just ran a dxdiag and tried to attach the text file to this post, but when I tried that Edge just froze and started grabbing a ton of resources. Any thoughts on that?

Should have mentioned....

dxdiag showed no issues and virus scanner reported all clean.

Game is full bugged since update 2.2 DICE need to do something

Thought I'd try one last time.

Uninstalled the game

Uninstalled Origin.

Rebooted

Went to Epic Launcher and selected Install.

That then installed the new EA Launcher (replacing Origin) and the game itself.

Game started on first attempt. Been playing it for a couple of hours without any issues whatsoever.

Phew!
