Deactivating the drivers is not the solution to the problem!!! My water cooling, pump, fan, LED lights, motherboard monitor board display etc. are going crazy. The solution can only be provided by EA and they don't seem to care if we Asus users can play the game or not. They already got our money, why bother now after 6 months when the problem is known. We don't even get any information or an explanation about this problem here, nobody comments on it, we are simply left in the lurch. It's really sad that a big game manufacturer like EA does this. I think many people will no longer trust EA after the whole BF2042 story and will no longer buy a game, myself included. This is not a service, mistakes can happen no problem, but 6 months long no information about it and nothing happens, that's not fair! That was wasted money for something that many Asus users can no longer use.

Using serviwin - I shut down AsIO, Asusgio2 & 3.  ASUSgio2 is the only one that actually says stopped - the other 2 are "stopping". While I can play the game without a BSOD on exiting the game. I can't restart AsIO or Asusgio3 using serviwin (say's an instance is already running). To make it more fun the pc needs a clean boot (errors come up from the the two drivers that were stuck in stopping) and then a restart to get back to normal. I will not be buying the next version of FC or whatever they decide to call it without knowing that the issue has been fixed. EA can eat a bag of ***** for their poor level of support.  

For what its worth....

As on 2024-04-09 the issue for many ASUS Motherboard owners (Including me) are still present and no one from EA has acknowledged the issue since Season 6 launched and the EA Anti-Cheat was implemented in BF2042. I have been an avid Battlefield player my entire life but this is just ridiculous and keeps me from enjoying the game just to know that on my next EXIT I will get a BSOD!!

@EA, You know that since you implemented EA Anti-Cheat into BFV, the issue started there as well..

BF2042, BFV all run perfectly fine but the moment you exit the game... you get a BSOD with a KERNEL_APC_PENDING_DURING_EXIT message. This is a Critical Error!!

This issue for me and many other players started the minute you implemented your EA Anti-Cheat in these games ONLY!! NO OTHER GAMES I PLAY DOES IT

Please for the respect of your player base, acknowledge the issue and have it fixed.... Your Anti-Cheat is currently causing more harm than fixing things for us.

The problem has existed for 7 months lol.
And you call that a service?

We can't play BF5 & BF2042 anymore because of the new Anti Cheat Service.
I've never experienced anything so bad.

Confirm I'm another user getting kernel apc pending during exit, this only recently started happening to me, been playing BF2042 fine for weeks, only recent things I've done is  updated my bios (Asus motherboard) and was given an EA Anti-cheat update, happens in BFV also. Need a fix ☹️

So i uninstalled Armoury crate and Aura. Whilst I don't have control over lighting for now I'd like to say thank you, I fixed the BSOD crash by following what user said use ServiWin and disable drivers -
SysWow64\drivers\AsIO.sys
SysWow64\drivers\AsUpIO.sys
C:\Windows\system32\drivers\AsIO2.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\AsIO3.sys

Now I can play Season 7 on BF2042 that I purchased last week, but haven't been able to play much @EA

Guys, there is finally some news about the problem. The community manager EA_Vendcera wrote that EA knows about it and is working on a fix:

i have a BSOD while opening battlefield 2042 since 1 week. everything was fine since i started playing in december 2023 . i played a little of season 7 and then boom. i tried everything to fix it and reinstalled windows and still not working.

Please read this Thread, there are so many users here wo have had a BSOD, caused by asus drivers since october and the release of Season 6.

Last week's EA anti cheat update did not fix the problem experienced by users who have installed software such as amoury crate from asus.

I'm from Germany, but the forum there can't help us either.

There is a workaround by deactivating the asus drivers, but for some users this is not an option because it means their hardware will no longer work properly.

Can you please tell us that the developers are aware of the problem, there has been no information about it for 7 months

@HuxleyOi69 Hi. If you're experiencing issues with BF2042 because of ASUS Armoury Crate, we recommend to remove that program as per https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/ASUS-Motherboards-amp-BF-2042-Crashing-or-Other-Problems/m-p/12341601/highlight/true#M42957.

@EA_Leeuw Thank you! I have been waiting so long for an answer from someone representing EA.

I have tried uninstalling armoury crate and verifying the game files and all that but it does not work. 

I am still getting the BSOD: "KERNEL_APC_PENDING_DURING_EXIT" when exiting the game (launch works fine as does playing, it is just upon exiting).

I am playing Battlefield 5. I understand that the support for that game has ended and that the chance of an update is very small.

But there is something about adding this anti cheat that makes some people unable to play a game they've already purchased and making it not function anymore. 

Don't get me wrong, I would much rather want that you keep the anti cheat and don't do any update rather than removing the anti cheat and having it as before. The anti cheat is very needed and most players are able to play with it.

With that said though, I would really appreciate an update for BF5 aswell.

I'm not demanding it, I'm just doing a hopeful wish. I love the game, it's my favourite Battlefield game and at the top of my favourite list among all the games I own.

Please let me play.

@Madara_skullUnfortunately, I doubt they will do anything because only a small percentage of players struggle with this problem. I am very curious whether if this problem affected most players, would they also be told to wait for any contact for 7 months and the only thing they did after that time was to convince the players that it was their fault because they use the ASUS Armory Crate program, which most of them need? to control cooling in your PC. Instead of just admitting that they messed up by releasing updates to their ridiculous EA Anti Cheat. As a long-time fan of the BF series, I bought the game before its premiere in the elite edition and this is how they repay their customers. The only thing I regret the most is that I can no longer return it, but I am sure of one thing that I will never invest my money in any product of this company again.

The fact that Asus software is blocked by EA Anti Cheat and that we should uninstall all of it was put into the thread by the German community manager

We're just as shocked about it, it's probably just that the players who make up this group are too small and EA just doesn't care

@HuxleyOi69 still if you dont know why it happening just say so and say that the correct team is looking into the matter and will have a timely fix   NOT 7 PLUS MONTHS LATER..there no excause for a company that employs 1000 of empolyees to not have this in a timely fix again look at helldrivers took them 2 days to turn away to fix something that was super unpopluar...a small studio making AAA studios look like trash. they are making EA, xbox studios, Ubisoft, all of them making them look out of touch with reality of what real gamers want. i mean look at palworld to...no live service and they sold millions

Highly disappointed that this issue still has not been resolved. At this point I'm going to request a refund over the state of the game. All because some of your player base uses ASUS motherboards and you're too lazy to find the root cause of the issue.
