@ObiWanPronobi if you both have crossplay on, in the BF2042 main menu you then have to search for each other's EA ID (EA account nam), not the name you have on PS5/Xbox.
This crossplay connections work through the EA account names.

For example if this name you use here > @ObiWanPronobi is the EA account that is connected to your Xbox account that you want to play with. Then your friend has to search for this name "ObiWanPronobi" and NOT the usual Xbox gamertag you use.

Thanks for responding. We also tried entering ea account names with no luck. It boggles the mind because we played together some months back.
What's your EA ID that you have linked to your Gamertag on Xbox?

@ObiWanPronobi you made sure you are both on either the next-gen or the old-gen game version?
As you know BF2042 has two game version.
Maybe it makes a difference in searching for each other.
