- restart the game 
- change  ui language of steam, EA app and the game as well
- reinstalling the game

- block and unblock each other in EA app
- turn off antivirus apps

We bought this game to play together and this issue is really disapponting.

This is especially weird, because I had this issue ONCE before recently and mine WAS fixed by blocking and unblocking each other... I am using steam version, friend is on EA only version and we couldn't see each other one day. I blocked him using EA app, unblocked him, re friended him and bingo we could see each other again... I wonder why this didn't work in your case :/
