I found out if I choose the refresh rate at 60 Hz with any resolution- be it 1440p or 1080p, my CPU will be at 60-80%- Anything else is 100% usage.- ATCleeghoofd3 years agoRising Veteran@BR34CH3R That's an interesting fact. Does it make the game better playable or is the feel similar ?
- direct3r3 years agoSeasoned Ace
@ATCleeghoofdI don't see a pattern, got 4k 60hz and >90% cpu usage.
But there is pattern as its almost the same for everyone, it's the game that causes these spikes
- raverill3 years agoRising Hotshot@direct3r Exactly..well said direct3r👍 The game is borked and needs optimising further..no good chasing rainbows with some of this snake oil advice.
- @ATCleeghoofd well 60 Hz isn't same as 144 Hz... It's painful but playable and less stuttering.
- ATCleeghoofd3 years agoRising Veteran@direct3r I would say it is the game in combination with your specific hardware and software that has this issue. Otherwise it would not run great on so many other setups.
- @ATCleeghoofd do you not see there's 474 replies on this issue???? look at the counting on the other issues, it's not his hardware xd
no progress
- raverill3 years agoRising Hotshot@lucaspuchades Spot on!
- Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@lucaspuchades hahaha 474 pages of post from the same multiple people !
And some of them entered enough post to take 2 a 3 pages for them alone,.
And yes , it are just a few , if ya compare with others who do not got problems !
Could always post youre system hardware and a dxdiag so it can be investigated .
Maybe someone got a workaroubnd or a solution for you !
And remember , youre system hardware need to be compatiblew with each other and the configuration should be 100% correct !
Always the max. is in certain situation not the best selection !

So is this never going to be fixed? It has been an issue for far too long already and I'm about to give up on the series forever at this point.
- ATCleeghoofd3 years agoRising Veteran
@lucaspuchadesI see a lot of people complaining yes, but also most of them are too scared or too stubborn to try out any solution provided.
Imagine EA has 10 setups running and none of them has the behavior that you are experiencing. How can they fix it ? Maybe they will set CPU load at 90% in the upcoming patch, might be users start to complain that the game is not using the CPU's full potential...
This game is taxing on your hardware, plenty of solutions are working to lower the load, but no why should you do it as it plays Cyberpunk or Warzone fine... your call...
Well it plays smooth on my and my friends' setups... Some didn't need any CFG or other workaround, one had to deinstall the latest windows update. With one I set a fixed CPU clock to stop it from throttling as he is still using an AMD boxed cooler. I simply disabled the Hyperthreading in the motherboard's bios on my setup so I could raise the overal CPU clocks. - Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@MrH999 What system ya got ? post a dxdiag please !
If ya got a 6 or 8 core cpu , youre system got some job to do with the next gen game !!!
This game uses a lot if it isnt all of youre cpu , a new GPU would not fix the cpu load !!!
Most people need to consider about some hardware upgrades __> CPU , this means if ya get a new cpu , you probarly also need new mem thats compatible with youre new CPU.
Check youre motherbord QVL info for cpu+mem !
But post youre dxdiag and let us look into it , to see if there is any fix possible !!!
Cheers - @Rokebo73 Hi!
I'd be interested in your expertise! I posted my dxdiag few posts before this one.
Can you check and tell meif I have a config problem?
For me the gamewas working well before S03 and nowI have 100% cpu. I tried tweaking graphic settings in game, clean boot, reainstall ea app and Bf.
Nothing worked for now. - @ATCleeghoofd Ah yes, blame the customer for your errors that didn’t have Problems before.
A true Classic, not gonna lie. - ATCleeghoofd3 years agoRising Veteran@Bolvard Well either you sort it yourself (by using e.g. Rokebo73's tips) or wait endlessly and turn into a sour grape while you are waiting for them EA programmers to properly address it...
The choice is yours... I have PAYED for it, I don’t need to work ANYTHING out becouse of THEYR errors.
I will however voice my concerns and inconvenience time and time again, luckily there are many other Games where I’m occupied atm and near future. (and work flawlessly)

@Exter08 Hey man.
I see a 8 core cpu (16 with vm enabled). Youre system is realy busy to run this game (BF2042 is a very intensive cpu uasge game).
You could try the User.cfg i posted a few pages earlyer (will check and update this post).
I also see some bios updates for youre system that could improve (boost cpu and 3d) youre system performance !
In dxdiag is see errors with DWM.exe , DesktopWindowsManager, youre probarly asking to much from youre cpu with all the background /apps/programs you got running !
Try a cleanboot and test game again !
Also make sure youre system drivers (check website from motherboard) are all up to date !!
Maybe you could boost youre memory a bit more, but keep in mind mem will run at the speed from the slowest mem ya got installed (i see 49gb mem installed , so you probarly got mem modules installed with different partnumbers).
Check windows motherboard drivers.
Disable all app/programs you do not need to run this game.
Flash youre bios with all te updates you didnt do yet.
Boost youre memory (xmp / doc)
Use only 1 connected monitor to test youre game, no cpu need to work for both monitors you connected , any extra monitor will eat about 15 a 20 fps from game and resources)
Use a lower resoltuion is also recommended , ya got a overkill gpu for youre system at this moment !!!!!!!.
Let me know what it did for you, updatre us
CheersEdit: This is about the User.cfg to manage cpu core for game and system

this is the cleanboot instruction to (disable) run minimal programs/apps in the backgroundCLEAN BOOT
Now reboot pc by a clean boot:

Only microsoft services should be allowed (hide them), all other services and programs need to be disabled (unchecked) !and this is to update any system driver at your system:
SYSTEM DRIVERS AND CHIPSET UPDATE
Check the Youtube movie how to install , download and update ALL drivers.
https://youtu.be/6UpzenfVOAA
Open the web browser and enter url: https:\\www.drivereasy.com
Click at Driver Update Tool in the upper bar and select Download Free Version.
Click at the green button with the text DOWNLOAD DRIVER EASY NOW.
When tool is downloaded select the file and run.
Install Driver Easy Tool. Some drivers updates need to reboot your system, reboot system when needed,
continue using Driver Easy untill 'ALL' drivers are updated.
This free version allows only 1 download and 1 update at once.

CheersI already posted my DXDIAG in the thread. I have a 3080 with a 10700K @ 4.8GHz. It's absolutely not my hardware. The game ran perfectly before the patch and now the CPU usage is always pegging at 100% which causes stuttering. No other game comes close to this level of CPU usage, I rarely see anything above 30% in even the most demanding games.
I've seen people say cap to 60fps to "fix" it, which is just nonsense, obviously handicapping your performance will lower your CPU usage, but that's not a fix, that's a dirty bandaid at best. I game on a 165Hz monitor so capping to 60Hz is not an option, nor should it need to be. I really hate when people try to defend the developers and blame the user when it's clearly their mistake, I have been building, repairing, overclocking and troubleshooting computers longer than some people in this thread have been alive.

@MrH999Give Disabling Hyperthreading a shot, I did it on my 11900K which also runs at 4800MHz 1.25Volts
