@lucaspuchades Did ya try the User.cfg already ???
To manage cores for games and system !
In some situations the User.cfg does not help , depends on the ammount of cores (brand/typ cpu) ya got !!
Then ya could use the program LASSO to manage cores for game and system !!
Will edit post and give url for User.cfg edit and install, give me a minute !
Cheershere ya go dude:

try this and see if it helps, you got 8 cores (16 with vm eneabled in bios) , so use only (real cores) 6 or 7 for game and 1 or 2 for system !!
here is a url for lasso:
https://bitsum.com/product-update/process-lasso-9-3-introducing-the-cpu-limiter/ - @Rokebo73 Thread.MaxProcessorCount 3
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12
but this doesn't suit my PC what am I supposed to use???
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 7
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16

@lucaspuchadesps ya only need those 3 lines in user.cfg , bf2042 detect auto youre ammouint of cores
Thread.MaxProcessorCount 6
Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
Thread.JobThreadPriority 0
just test it, lower or higher that number, You could try 7 or even lower 5 !
If it doesnt do anything then try LASSO

Thread.MaxProcessorCount 12 reduced my CPU usage by about 25% and has made the game playable again. So if you have a 16 thread CPU I'd give that a shot.
