- Rokebo733 years agoSeasoned Ace@Adept32k there are many work arounds, some do help for some configs/systems.
Other workaround dont do anything !
it depends on youre system and configuration/software.
Thats why a dxdiag for example is very help full !
Cheers Haven't played since December when it was free, and back then I had a stellar 120-140 frames with no stutters, input lag and hit reg were a bit of an annoyance from the game side not my potato pc. Could play the game without any issue, fast forward to now, I've spent the last week tuning and doing pretty much anything that was discussed in here and somewhat I came to a semi-decent state where the game is playable.
So first things first, my pc is low end for this game i7 8900k, gtx 1060 (6gb), 16gb ram (2666hz) and running on hdd cause my ssd died back in April, with that said back in December the game ran better than bf V for some reason, since the cpu was doing most of the work. I am unsure if this issue we're all having is related to the way 2042 reads the shaders and other caches after season 3 because I've had no issues before with textures/assets loading slow as heck.
In my case, the cfg doesn't help much since the gpu is weak and can't take much of the load off the cpu. (also in my case the game uses 10/12 cores without it and no matter what I put in the config it will be a minimum of 8/12 that the game will use) The official "solution" combined with unlocking my cores and ISLC got my game to a stable 60fps playable where the cpu doesn't cook itself and the game won't go into a powerpoint presentation performance with full auto guns fluctuating rate of fire, 2 seconds delays on controls and all that pain. Core temps still jump from 35 to 55-ish when I open the game, and the highest I've seen is 65-67 after around 1-2 hours but this is the temp where I've set fanspeed to 100%
1080p with a lot of settings on medium on a gtx1060, can't complain much about that tbh- ATCleeghoofd3 years agoRising Veteran
How many cores does that I7 8900K have ? I don't know the model
I achieved a steady 60FPS on a GTX 1070 on a Ryzen 2600@4000Mhz... Isnt the HDD slowing things down as the game tends to write a lot of files on the drive too
update plz
My experience on this pc has been that the ssd would drastically lower loading times in any game and ofc windows start up, perhaps asset loading would be looking weird with invisible foliage and textures looking low quality for 10 sec or so depending on the game. In properly optimized games the only difference I've seen is the loading times.. So I would assume it does, however not to the extent it would f up the sync of controls and the game flow.
8700k has 6 cores (12 with hyperthread)I have tried a few config options but I am stuck at 99/100% CPU load at all times, the game feels horrible and extremely choppy.....are we just waiting for a fix or is this game unplayable on my system for good?
