Re: CPU .CFG File....Question

@GrizzGolf I use a user.cfg file in Battlefield 1 to better load balance across CPU cores with 'Thread.MaxProcessorCount 9'.

Without this the game will completely load one of the CPU cores to 100% while the other CPU cores are barely doing any work. Even one CPU core at 100% will cause stuttering in the game.

The best way to see if any CPU cores are maxed out is to play the game in windowed mode, instead of full screen. Then launch task manager (alt + ctrl + del). Under 'options' in task manager click on 'Always on top'. Play the game and see if any CPU cores in task manager CPU graph go up to 100%

I don't know if 2042 does a better job of distributing the workload across CPU cores. I haven't tested it since I haven't played the game recently.

I also don't know if the user.cfg file still works in 2042. An easy way to test if it works is to create a user.cfg file in the same folder as the bf2042.exe file. Then add 'PerfOverlay.DrawGraph 1' (without the quotes) in the user.cfg. Then launch the game. If you see the performance graph when you launch the game then the user.cfg works. If not that means DICE disabled the user.cfg file in 2042.
