Adding to this since I had this issue with unbound.
You dont need to delete the entire folder, just the cache one, depending on the game, also downloadedData.
The issue is regarding DX12 shader compilation not starting and attempting to use precompiled shaders from a previous driver.
I only do what he said ( delete the cache folder) and it really work. After reinstalling game (fail) driver(fail)... This solution works. Thanks

If you are reading this thread and have the issue with "createComputePiplineState" this poster gave the right answer. Do not delete you video card drivers, or go back to windows 10 like some of the others here have suggested and you do NOT need to delete the whole 2042 folder under Document's. You should only have to delete the cache and the poster even gave the reason its happening.

updating the gpu driver to most recent version fixed the issue for me, at least for now...

Sorry, on a 14900KF with 4080 OC with 16GB of DDR6 VRAM, same issue now. It's now 2024.
Which cache folder. There are only like a zillion, some local, some in Documents, some in User, some in AppData, some in ProgramData, some in OneDrive. Windows 11 is SO much fun. It's literally trying to upload all my data to OneDrive so it can say my 1TB of online storage is full and get me to buy more. Not only that, since ISP upload speeds are a fraction of download speeds, it's locked my computer up with 120kbps uploads so I can't turn it off for days, or have to wait for five years for all those gigabytes/terabytes of data to "sync" to OneDrive.
Who ever thought of this cockamamie system?! Windows11 is, still, 50 years later, primarily designed for business people who do 2k Word documents and 4k spreadsheets. Anything beyond that scares its little task-switching (yes, despite all the drivel, it's STILL only a really fast task-switching OS!) head to death and it barfs.
Happy 2024! These problems will never be solved! I might sound like I'm drunk but I'm not; I'm only frustrated, and it ain't EA that's at fault. I have 2500 hrs. into BF2042 on my PS5, and it's run great the whole time. Now, on this new soupie-doupie computer? Can't even stand up, it's like an old man who can't recognize quantum computing is almost here.
Ah and as to DirectX12, yes, it apparently needs 42 TB of DDR8 VRAM to run yer average game now. OH Well. Sorry, EA: please help the whole industry give up on gaming on the PC, which is what the security "xperts" at MS have been wanting since, oh, 1998.

I've spend 4 days trying to search forums and trying out 20+ different solutions for this that didnt help.
Now i finally found a fix, and its actually the most simple fix in the history of PC's:
1. Put windows in energy saving mode
2. launch the game and play
this worked for me, even when i turned graphics back to ultra...played for 4 hours now without crash, before i couldnt get passed loading screen.
Using windows in energy saving mode dont even lower my fps ingame.
Thanks to a random guy in the comments of some shady youtube video for this fix.
Highly doubt it and yeah, power saving mode will make the framerate go down on graphically intensive games. Generally you want all the power you can get for games.
The only real fix is the downclock.
