- Mackdose3 years agoNew Rookie@MadishMike I think the menus are uncapped, which is overheating cards and causing the GPU drivers to crash.
My suggestion is to force a framerate cap on the application, which switching to borderless does automatically. - @Mackdose Hi Mackdose, yeah I do cap the frames due to other games so definitely a good idea anyway. This was happening when connecting to EA servers and then it would crash.Origin has just updated a moment ago and the problem has now gone. Fingers crossed.
I don't want to jinx it but on a whim I undid my under clock on my 6900xt and just played a multi-hour session on the latest build without issue. My AMD driver version is 22.5.1. Cautiously optimistic.

Haven't seen this crash since the vanilla launch , it started crashing for me daily now since I reinstalled the game yesterday morning , I even get two CTD's one after the other after the splash screen with this DirectX Error , it's a shame I guess it's a skip for another year?

Has anyone solved the Dirext X error when playing BF2042?
I have tried 3 different drivers using clean installs and DDU uninstaller in safe mode. Still crashes.
I have ran the Windows 11 System file checker (SFC Scan), NO issues found.
I have ran the BF2042 repair tool, no issues found.
I am running XMP1 mode, nothing else has been changed in the Bios and my GPU is not overclocked by me, only the factory OC
I have updated to the latest bios. Still crashes.
