@Tylerr_Sama, can you post a fullscreen screenshot of the issue happening when you perform a clean boot?

@EA_Leeuw I have the same error. The game was working fine until the last week. I have Win 11 with Windows Defender (no 3rd party AV) with all updates.

I tied everything that I could find:

    1. Running BF2042 repair in Origin
    2. Clean boot
    3. Disable UAC
    4. EAC Service repair utility (EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe)
    5. EAC Game Errors Solution Guide
    6. EAC Service update - EAC have v5.0 there and BF2042 includes v4.0
    7. Windows System File Checker / Deployment Image Servicing
    8. Running Origin, EAC, and BF2042 as Administrator
    9. Uninstalling and installing back the latest Nvidia drivers and Nvidia Experience
    10. Uninstalling and installing back Origin
    11. Uninstalling and installing back BF2042
    12. Disabling Real-time and Tampering protection in Windows Defender
    13. Other fixes

    Nothing helped.

My DxDiag and screenshots are attached.

    A couple of observations:

    1. When EAC is launched it always shows 2 EAC splash screens appearing one after another and staying on together (see screenshots)
    2. While I was re-downloading BF2042, when it was partially playable - it worked! I started it and played a round with bots. After this I exited the game, it finished downloading and stoped working again.

    All ideas exhausted, need help

@EA_Leeuw, I solved the problem with BF/EAC not starting.

In DxDiag, I noticed that the app at fault is nvcontainer.exe.

It turned out to be NVidia Container from NVidia Control Panel.

When I tried to open it, it was not responding, so I uninstalled it and re-installed it from Microsoft App Store.

And... it fixed the problem, and I can play BF2042!

  • @EA_Leeuw I'm not too keen on taking the time and going through the hassle of uninstalling Webroot. Maybe if I get desperate enough.

    Hey @YLD_fox,

Please also note that Windows 11 is not officially supported by any EA program or game at the moment. Therefore this can also result in issues.

But I am very glad to hear that you got it solved again by reinstalling the Nvidia panel! 🙌
