Before i freeze i have most of the time big slowdown (the game goes in slow motion), i don't see a gun in my caracter hands, every image struggle to load in the menu (turning green loading cross instead).
It goes with my FPS divided by 2
But sometimes i just freeze without any warning
@EA_AticIf it's happening on the load screen when joining the match, then it's hard to notice stuttering just before game's hung/crash. Music stops, mouse is stuttering heavily until I force close the app. However battlefield process is still running and needs to be killed from the task manager. So if it is a crash, then it seems to be a crash of some of the battlefield thread, but not a main thread that is still running.
Next, if hung/crash happens while playing then I could notice heavy stutter and fps drop for around a second or two just before the freeze.
@EA_Aticyes fps drops, game looks to act in slow motion (while if ya use mouse to look around, got no issue). only when ya try to move character from a to b. But most of the time game just freezes !
must say , that i have no more issues for about 2 days now, i reverted all work arounds and game keeps running , no fps drops, no freezes and crashes !
@EA_Atic sometimes its just freeze's other the fps are dropping very low or its like a slideshow others its just throw me to my desktop also the pc performance is much worst than it was before the update

fps were stable and I have not really seen a fps drop and the sim ran well while the game slowed down, but more like the general inputs.
so like looking around was lagging behind the real mouse movement, I could still do things but they were lagging behind for some time, this happenend especially often in crowded areas and when there were alot players stayed also longer.
I had the same lagging inputs when the internet connection here was bloated (but also there came a network warning), but this time it was 100% free and happened so often
Maybe its just me, I have those freezes too, BUT I play with a wireless headset.
If the headset is plugged in I have no freezes anymore (GSP670).
If its wireless ... well ☹️ Iam the king of freeze

im getting pretty tired of trying to load into a game, or respawn and magically my whole screen freezes. i've done everything, and now no matter what i do, it still happens and im honestly getting sick of it. There are like 50 things that need fixing and no matter what patch comes out, we add 50 more. Its getting ridiculous, i held out hope for this game but i can barely even play it now because im not sure when itll ever crash or keep running. im done
The moment alot of us can realize beta testing was more balanced way more than this "final" product with all this "fixes" in past months with this seasons. EA told last year about a "big surprise", so here we are, this very big surprise we've paid for at least 60$. We've told them about this lags and freezes months ago, yet they ignored it, and now we suffer because of their ignorance till they will fix this issues.
Yes, as others have answered. Game play goes from normal to lag/slo-mo (just like @techb00mer 's video) then completely still screen while audio items stop playing, one by one, and then you're left staring at the last frame, waiting for something to happen. I waited as long as 5 minutes once but nothing changed, then I killed it from Task Manager like the others. Most of my crash experiences end like that at any time during round but a couple happened right away in map load after introduction to squad mates. For me, never in game main menu/lobby and also not yet in a solo/bot game; only after a multi-player game is launched. 30-40% end in crash vs 60-70% playable; something like that.
It's absolutely absurd that a product we pay for has been unplayable for 5+ days now. There should have been an immediate rollback until EA / DICE solved the problem. I'm cancelling my sub and I just purchased MW2. I hope you all do the same. Good day! 🙂
Still the same issues. My FPS icon will light up and everything goes slow motion till it freezes
I had my game go into complete slow down a couple of times, very slow motion, I closed the game and rebooted
I have had several freezes upon the loading into game screen, countdown
same as me, every time the game freezes, if I close it the game is still running in task manager
I found the fix, if you uninstall the game, then spin around with a hat on. Shout Give it to me baby. Then it is fixed. Mark thread solved. :D
Game slows down right before the freeze, yes 164fps down to 2fps normally then it freezes.
I went to play bf2042 a few days ago, it froze and crashed and I immediately went and bought modern warfare 2.
I think you guys lost my business for at least a few years until there is major changes at DICE and you release a good game again.
After playing MW2 for a few hours, DICE should be absolutely embarrassed and ashamed of the garbage fire they released and called BF 2042.
It's an absolute joke how bad 2042 is in almost every aspect, compared to every other game in its category and even previous BF games like 1 and 5.
@EA_Atic Yes still crashing. frame rate drops to 10FPS then freezes.
New 526 Nvidia Driver installed and rebooted, cache cleared.
The only odd thing I noticed, trying to clear the game which still shows on screen and with EA running in the background task manager report no Battlefield files nor EA background system files to close are listed. have to reboot to clear the game from the taskbar.
I give up. Have not played since MW2 anyway, the crashing was unbearable. Sorry DICE/EA, but lets be honest, you had your chance and you blew it, just to many mistakes over the last 12 months. Battlefield's reputation is destroyed ☹️
