Re: Game won't start after anti-cheat loading

This keeps happening if i walk away from my computer for too long and the monitor turns off.

There used to be a solution that worked but the post apparently got deleted.

Please dear god fix this.

I spent 3 hours trying to fix this again and it still won't start.

I don't have many hours to play games.

The worst part about this issue is if I attempt to reinstall the game it tells me I've installed it on too many computers.

At this point the game won't even start for 24 flippin hours.

Of all the issues people complain about, this one should be full stop the one you are trying to fix.

Here are the steps an EA rep was confident would resolve the issue:

    Origin clear cache :
1 If Origin is running, close it by clicking Origin in the menu bar then Exit.
    2 Hold the Windows key + R.
3 In the command box that opens, type %ProgramData% then click OK.
4 Open the Origin folder and delete all the files and folders inside it except for LocalContent. Do not delete that folder.
    If you’re on Windows XP, you’ll find the ProgramData folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Electronic Arts\
5 Hold the Windows key + R again.
6 In the command box that opens, type %AppData% then click OK.
7 In the Roaming folder that opens, delete the Origin folder.
8 Click on AppData in the address bar.
    9 Open the Local folder.
10 Delete the Origin folder in there.
11 Restart your PC and log back into Origin.

Here now we will repair the game. Please follow the given steps and repair it.
    1. Select My Game Library in Origin.
    2. Right-click on the game tile.
    3. Select Repair Game.

    Run Origin as Administrator :
1)Locate the Origin shortcut or executable on your computer and open its properties it by right-clicking its entry either on the Desktop or the Start menu or the Search results window and choose Properties from the pop up context menu.
    2) Navigate to the Compatibility tab in the Properties window and check the box next to the Run this program as an administrator option before saving the changes by clicking OK or Apply.

I suddenly have this issue today after doing a BIOS update for my z590-plus. I installed a new motherboard, and i5-11600k yesterday. Played for a bit, woke up. Did a bios update, now I can't get it to work. Tried all the above things. Other games with EAC work FINE. This is a BF2042 issue. Would be nice if we could get some help. This is a HUGE thread.

***EDIT*** downgraded bios, still an issue
***EDIT 2*** I installed to another SSD thats NOT an nvme like the original. Unsure why this works. The drive appears healthy and was functional with the game as recently as yesterday.

  • Update on this. So after a day the new install stopped working (wtf right)? Confirmed after that other EAC games worked. I didnt make any changes. Nothing weird with AV.

I reinstalled to another new drive. Game works. After some other issues (HDD performance problems that are drive related) I moved it back to the original NVME dive and the game works. Im not sure why. I tried to reinstall on that drive maybe 4 times and it didn't work after moving then moving back.

  • @crnhlioYep I had this. 2nd install on fresh system working fine, revert to first install, working fine, next day, neither of them work.
Seems like EAC doesn't like you switching back and forth.
A lot of the questions I have read relate to multiple computers/drives/installs - Sucks when you are chasing performance as is required with this game.
Now I'm afraid to try anything.

Hello. Same here since yesterday. Impossible to launch the game. I tried reinstalling it and revert drivers etc.
