Quick update, woke up this morning, started up my pc, launched origin and started up BF2042. Game launched as normal????????? No idea what the difference was but my guess is that the game didn't like me switching between different OS so many time and verifying files so many times. EAC might have put me in a cooldown.
Game was working fine yesterday, tried loading it today and suddenly it won't launch. Like others are reporting, I haven't done anything differently other than launch the game and it will load up Anti-cheat and then flash back to the Origin Launcher.
Upon investigating 'Event Viewer', I get the following:
Launching game:
File System Filter 'EasyAntiCheatSys' (6.1, 2021-09-30T19:33:23.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager.
Then:
File System Filter 'EasyAntiCheatSys' (Version 6.1, 2021-09-30T19:33:23.000000000Z) unloaded successfully.
Some help would be appreciated. I've tried updating, repairing, reloading, disabling firewall, and nothing.
Same issue, dude I just want to play the game I spent 100$. Ive uninstalled BF2042 and EAC but still nothing. War Thunder does the same thing but I can just open it again and it actually starts unlike 2042 which just refuses. I am at my wits end and I just want to play but all I see is this.
New error this morning. Instead of my previously fixed issue where the game wouldn't launched. I get the above where it says "Failed to start the game"
I actually got another update. So today when the symptom changed (failed to start vs x2 eac launch then nothing) I dug around and figured out its an issue with webroot av.
SO the tldr here is that shutting down the av app doesnt fix the issue (if you look in services.msc you will see several webroot apps (stating with WR) still running even with the app stopped and you cant stop them).
BASICALLY the workaround I have found is to completely uninstall webroot. If you are using it id try the same.
My suspicion is that these two issues are the same and has been the issue all along.
No what im telling you is that for webroot specifically disabling it is not sufficient it must be fully uninstalled
I have just got a new build PC. I can play all other games just fine with settings to max and no issues. BF2042 though i get the 'splash screen' indicating the game is loading and then after 10 seconds or so it goes back to Origin. This computer is a new build. Please fix this / help me.
Have you done all bios and driver updates?
Did you ever find a fix? none suggested works and it started after I got a new PC as well
