Just wanted to add that I also have the same issue. For me there is one slight difference though - it happens 3 times each time instead of 2 times. In other words, all input locks up for about 2-3 seconds, then I regain control for about 1 second, lock up again for 2-3 seconds, get it again for 1 second and finally, lockup again for 2-3 seconds. Sounds like the same as you but it happens in 3s for me.
Since the season 1 patch, it has happened much less than before the patch. Previously it would happen at least 3 or 4 times each map, but with the new patch, I find I can play for 3 hours and it only happens about 3-4 times. It still drives me crazy, but a little less so I suppose. Like you, it doesn't happen on other games I play (Sniper Elite 5, Rainbow Six Siege) and my system is no slouch (i9-12900K, EVGA 3080 Ti). My Windows 11 OS and the game are both on Gen 4 M.2 SSDs (the OS and game are on separate drives) so I'm not sure what could be causing it.
I am hopeful that the future games will ditch the Frostbite engine and use something else - maybe that will fix it.
Thought I would add this link here as a possible reason for the issue. Maybe someone who knows more than me will know if this could be a thing.

@SkykingUS-Eh Yeah, I have seen many other people mansion having this bug where they freeze and unfreeze for different lengths of time, seems to be the same thing. In my test of the season 1 update it happened within 30 seconds of starting a match, crushing any hope that it was fixed and I quit the game after that.
dude same. has been a problem for me since the beta and has still not been fixed even with the season 1 update. it's unplayable. ea has basically stolen our money at this point since no one at DICE seems to be aware of this freaking issue.
