Try pressing the toggle for sprint. It worked for me.

I notice this for console, on PS5 and PS4 v. of it. I have to take a sec to align myself properly straight on it and hold going forward to finally go up. Before 4.0 I could snag onto it real quickly, even at times I did not want to get on, I would catch on to it. Seems they wanted to fix that issue and is backfiring. 🤒
