It looks like you should be able to log in now. Give it a shot and let me know what happens.
@EA_Aljo i have had this issue since launch were i can get into a game no problem, but every game no matter what is very very laggy and i have gone over all the steps i could find, cleared cahce, port forwarding, uninstall reinstall, different hard drives (all SSD and 1 M.2 SSD) , i use a wired connection with high speed, i got it through steam, verified files, i dont know what more i can do at this point i know its not an issue on my end, my ISP has even replaced my modem for me and still i cant play a singe round with out it lagging and having massive packet loss

Hello, @FullMetalR0nin
As a test, could you switch your connection to a mobile hotspot and let me know if you have the same issue?

good morning
I solved my problem by installing the AMD recommended drivers.
Clean driver installation
Driver deletion with DDU - EA_Aljo3 years ago

Great! So glad to hear this. If you have any more issues, please let us know. Good luck on the Battlefield!
@EA_Aljo I don't have a hotspot feature with my phone provider, but if i try it wireless it makes no difference

@EA_Aljo Hey. I have managed to get into a couple of (UK) evening sessions, 3 hours-long on Exposure. I haven't tried any other maps yet. Thursday night, after the cuffuffle, was silky smooth. Really enjoyed that first night. I have some Network Graphics clips from Thursday. I also noticed last night that in Portal Browser servers, European servers are back to 45ms ping, not 260ms, as they should be.
However, last night (Friday) some creepy-crawlies were coming back into play, namely:
- Servers were feeling laggy, hit reg seemed off. Nowhere silky smooth as Thursday PM.
- There is an issue I have had on both days where the first trigger pull by me results in a single bullet fired, a delay, then continuation of firing - this has happened more than once, on both days with the PBX and PP29 - needless to say it results in my untimely death! ;-)
- Last night, using the PP29, tried switching barrel using the + system, no options available to me.
Unfortunately, I don't have footage of these, but will try to capture it again, for reference.

The point was to completely get off your current network. This rules out issues with your ISP. Unfortunately, switching to a wireless connection doesn't do that so we can't rule out ISP issues. Try using alternate DNS settings with the instructions here. Let's see if that helps. It would also be good to try what @segundovolante suggested.
It sounds like you tried what @segundovolante suggested. Is that helping?
It sounds like clearing the game cache helped. I'm very glad to hear it!
- @EA_Aljo good morning, i did try to clear the cache out but it unfortunately did not help, i did borrow a friends mobile hotspot and it did not make a difference either, as for trying to change the DNS settings, its not something Shaw cable lets us do on the blue curve modem after speaking to 3 of their reps ☹️

That's unfortunate. Do you have access to the router at all? If so, can you check to see if QoS (Quality of Service) is supported? If so, it should be enabled and your PC should be prioritized.
Have you always had this problem with BF 2042? Are any other games lagging?
I'm getting intermittent stuttering / lag and it appears to be because the CPU is at 100% on all cores constantly ...even if I stand in a corner away from the battle or even in the menu / lobby.
Huge CPU bottleneck that seems to be worse now. I have 8 cores on a 9700k and even at 1440p ultra with a 3090 RTX on ULTRA settings....it's still a CPU bottle neck. Ridiculous.- @EA_Aljo I did login into my modem but there was nothing there that i could see QoS on the blue curve, and yes I only have this problem with BF 2042, everything else works IE escape from tarkov, Star citizen, WW3, Squad.

@EA_Aljo I can confirm that de-syncing my BF2042 folder did stop the latency, packet loss and stuttering immediately. I have a capture if you require, but contains personal info so I don't really want to share this. It is clear as night and day, literally like a switch, on and off.

Thanks for the update.
Can you try what @IndigoRain suggested?
- @EA_Aljo okay, how would i go about on de-syncing the bf2042 folder?
- EA_Aljo3 years ago

Please try what is suggested here. Thanks!
- @IndigoRain how did you do this?
- @EA_Aljo i don't use one drive, i did open it up and double check to be sure nothing was syncing into it and there was nothing there, as well to be on the safe side I also disabled one drive as well, cleared cache again reloaded BF 2042 and still have bad packet loss, i did have my ISP show up today to double check everything got a new modem, and did a clean install of the game, and still suffering from bad lag ☹️

Thanks for the update. Have you checked your ethernet cable to make sure it's not damaged? Also, is it at least Cat 6?
- @EA_Aljo yes im currently using cat7, and i have tried 3 other cables and they all lead to the same result, i dont know if this means anything to you but my time nudge for bf is always above 1K, also i wanna say thank you for all your help as well

I don't know what you mean by time nudge. Can you give me some details on that or is it a typo?

Hi,
Depending on which, if any, cloud service you use, you may find that your documents folder is being backed up to the cloud. This is what causes latency issues for me.
Personally, I use Mega, so it's relatively straight forward to deselect this folder "Battlefield 2042".
But it could be any service: OneDrive, Dropbox, etc etc. If you are not syncing anything to the cloud, then follow the EA teams instructions.
Good luck! 😊
@EA_Aljo i attached a screenshot of my game that shows all the info like packet loss in and out, and the TN (time nudge) i never heard of it till now, it was in my BF 2042 network settings that breaks down all the abbreviations on the screenshot, you'll see it between LAT after 4ms and before the SFT its will show TN 1,389

The time nudge is 1389 MS. That's really bad and is indicating an issue with your connection or CPU. Can you run a DXDiag report and attach it here? You can find those instructions in this article.
