cant play battlefield 1 or 3 done everything possible not been able to play it for getting into a server issue for months
cleared this repaired that reinstalled this that and every other bloody thing
now BF2042 the same, honestly have had just about enough of this companies incompetence
I genuinely will not buy another BF series game period.

The issue has been resolved:

now it works and in option game version is :

Update stuck, even after several retries. The download just stalled (on a stable 1 Gbps wired connection). Had to run repair twice to get it working. Some days Iām spending way more time troubleshooting and waiting for servers to get back than actually playing. This is barely a beta quality experience.

Yeah, that is, unfortunately, part of the EA app issue that we are also looking into, the one that I shared here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Matchmaking-error-after-5-1-patch-July-4-23-PC-EA-app/m-p/12717155#M49214. But this is unrelated, kinda, to this thread. Still having the issue. Restarted my PC etc.
After retry, same error.
Also in all the games, not just Breakthrough that I play.

@tikumo, this is indeed an issue that we are actively looking into, as it's something that seems to repeat itself every time a patch gets released for PC EA app players. However, this is unrelated to the global matchmaking issues that affected all platforms earlier today.
Please read before performing the 'temporary' (until another patch gets released) solution:
Could you please share the following here in the thread?EA app Error Report ID
- Please share an EA app Error Report ID here in the thread. Steps can be found here on how to generate this ID.
- If you cannot open the EA app, you can still generate an Error Report ID by following the steps mentioned underneath the section called "I can't open the EA app".
EA app logs
- Please share logs of the EA app, by either creating a .rar file of them and adding them to your post,
- The EA app logs can be found in C:\ProgramData\EA Desktop\Logs & C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\Logs.
Again, please do this before performing the 'temporary' solution (until another patch gets released).
'Temporary' solutionSpoilerIf you are playing on PC EA app and if the EA app did not offer the patch to you, please make sure to perform an EA app recovery and check if you can download/install the new patch.
Alternatively, try to repair the game via the EA app.
If you do not have the newest patch installed, it's working as intended and matchmaking (for every mode) will fail.Thank you.

I did as instructed and get stuck in a never ending loop of being asked to update the game. Whats going on? I just want to play some BF2042

Did you capture the EA app Error ID, EA app Logs, and after that, perform the EA app Recovery and Game Repair?
