Hey @Lv1_Metapod,
You should have Origin installed even when you play the game via Steam or Epic. This will run in the background when you try to launch the game via the other launchers. Via which platform launcher did you purchase the game?I also see from your DxDiag that you are using some potential out of date drivers for your GPU, driver date 10/19/2021. Can you check if you can update them, newer ones should be available.
However, I am unable to see any traces of any potential Battlefield 2042 issues in the DxDiag. Did you force close the game right before you created the DxDiag?
@FireWaia, unfortunately it seems like your PC does not meet the minimum requirements to run the game as your system seems to have a GTX 980 only, while a GTX 1050 Ti or higher is required.
Fun thing is i ran the game just perfectly fine yesterday with 45-60fps default settings and 70-90fps after .ini tweaks, i have 40 hours played so far in the game, i was lvl 47...
I can see why i shouldn't get any support for my gfx-card if it is below the minimum requirements, but this is CLEARLY just something blocking me from starting the game implemented in the last update and not my gfx-card.- EA_Leeuw4 years ago

@FireWaia, I understand what you mean. However, troubleshooting a potential game error on official unsupported hardware makes it very hard for us to see what the issue could be.
I can also see that you are running Windows 11, which is also not officially supported by the game. All these things can be a potential cause of the issue that you're currently experiencing, maybe a different cause than others might have.
You can check if a driver update maybe fixes the issue for you, as the Battlefield 2042 Game Ready drivers were released a few days ago by Nvidia and you seem to have older ones installed. Yeah i hear you, i am just hoping to find an unofficial fix for it seeing i don't have the money to upgrade my gfx-card, and i know the card itself is good enough to run the game, even though it is outside of the minimum requirements.
But i will ask for help outside of the official channels, and if that doesn't work, i guess i have to refund the game.
(also thought i had the latest drivers since nvidia experience says i do, and i updated the drivers yesterday. But will manually update and check.)- EA_Leeuw4 years ago

@Eviltrinity @Michael230975 @Jomsdk can I please ask on which platform you are playing the game? Is this via Origin/EA app, Steam or Epic Launcher? 🙂
- @EA_Leeuw It would help if you knew what you are talking about. I dont have origin installed either, i have the ea desktop.

Hey @ThisMeensWarPig,
I am sorry? Did you take a look at my previous posts? 🙂
If you have issues launching the game (get a black screen), can you please check if you have the same issue when you try to launch the game via Origin? If you do not have Origin installed, you should be able to download/install it via https://Origin.com.
If you are still experiencing issues after that, we would love to get a DxDiag if possible so we can check for potential underlying issues. - @EA_Leeuw After updating drivers, those were out of date a few days, and still getting it with no way to repair in the ea desktop, i uninstalled and am attempting to reinstall now. You said Origin should be running alongside the other stuff, and I don't have it installed at all...maybe I misunderstood (along with being frustrated with the constant issues in this game).
Alright, I went from being unable to play because of a matchmaking issue, to updating the game, and now being unable to play because of a black screen. I will go ahead and add myself to list of people having this problem. Will try to use origin instead of EA app.
Same here
- @HLWD I try origin same problem bur try maybe works for you
- @HLWD I repaired the game in Orgin and it seems to take the black screen away for me.

@EA_Leeuw Did a OriginER report - 14794fc10036538d
Tried all you advised on now and still black as hell when I start the game. I had no issues at all until the Update you made the other day.
