It might have something to do with the Commorose. There might not be enough delay between a quick press and holding the button down. After you spot someone, it quickly goes into the Commorose without actually showing it (it fades in I believe), then the animation of your character happens.
The fix could be maybe a slider for delay before the Commorose activates. Or just add 25-100ms before the Commorose comes up.
