@EA_Leeuw I'm playing on PC and unless I disable my microphone after starting BF2042 it stays in use.

@Itzan, thank you for this. I will make sure to pass it on to the teams as a possible bug. Any updates on this? I have the same problem in Unravel Two.
Additionally, if I disable the microphone in Windows settings, then the sound output of Unravel Two is also not working anymore.
Really feels like EA tries to spy on me while playing. I even get a popup message "microphone sound is recorded in the background"... WTF?! What would I need that for in a local two player game?! I don't need a microphone at all in this game, still I am forced to use it and I am even being recorded.
This is a new issue since the EA app replaced Origin.
- @CalluSlider Do you have a Dxdiag and/or have you tried to disable all sound recording devices in the system? Also are the VOIP settings in game shut off?
@Dresta: Thanks for the reply!
It wasn't an EA issue after all. By default, Xbox Game Bar (Win+G) was set to record game+microphone sounds while playing any game. Just today, I also noticed this playing Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam.
I only have a screenshot of the fix in german, sorry for that. Previously I had the first option (marked in red) checked, so it would allow the Xbox App to 1.) record in the background in general. And 2.) was set to "record game and activate microphone sound". Changing this according to the screenshot solved the issue for me.
