The dreaded ‘persistence data’ error on PC

I've been trying to get back into 2042 recently (On PC - Xbox Game Pass to EA Launcher - NOT STEAM) and the few games I get into I've been really enjoying, it's just that it's the FEW games I get into. I am consistently hit with the dreaded 'Unable to Load Persistence Data' error.

I have tried everything I could possibly find online from Cross Play off/on , Firewall shenanigans, DNS Server edits, Command Prompts, reinstalling, repairing, deleting the cache, loading up a game on my Xbox version and signing out and back onto my PC etc etc.

It seems like I am only allowed to play every other day. I try multiple times a day and it may work but 99% of the time it's the error.

It's really frustrating the two others I play with (Xbox and PC) have no issues and can play Solo or together, it's just me with the issue. I remember this happening around release when I was on Xbox and I guess I just thought it would have been sorted EA/Dices side as I assumed it was server side issue with them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really enjoying the game again so it is frustrating not being able to support it.

Thanks in advance!

  • @evilbassethound If I play the game on Xbox and then go to play on PC I get the error every single time, and same thing if I'm playing on PC and then try to play on Xbox. It would be great if this could get fixed, I feel like I'm penalized for buying the game on multiple platforms.
