Unable to load persistence data

Been unable to play ever since the update. I am stuck on "connecting to online services" with an occasional error message that states "Unable to load persistence data". Please look into this.   ...

That's a bummer. I've read in a few places that a VPN solves the issue, but we shouldn't have to use a VPN to play.

Agreed, but for now it's a duct tape solution until EA devs can pull their heads out of their rears and fix this persistent issue.
