user.cfg in BF2042?

Where to put in console scripts like:

simulationtime.maxvariablefps 143
perfoverlay.drawfps 1

???

A few years ago we had the user.cfg but it does´nt work.

PROFSAVE_Profile deletes the pasted command at startup.

Any ideas?

  • There are a few ways you can do this :

    Origin :

Right click the game in Origin and click on "properties"

On the right hand side of the top bar,  Select "Advanced launch options"

Each new command should have a - in front of it

    : Steam

Right click the game in your library and click "properties"

Click the box that says launch options

Again,  Before a new command is entered,  Put a - ( middle line ) before each command ( make sure to add a space at the end of each command after you enter the value).

    3rd Method :

Open notepad and enter each command on a new line

Click File -> Then "Save as",  Change the "save as type" from .txt to "all file types"

In the name,  Call it user.cfg and save it to your documents.

Copy the user.cfg from your documents and browse to your game installation  ( default is C:/Program Files/Battlefield 2042 ) and paste the file there.

The handy thing about a user.cfg is that it is executed each time the client loads up and also when loading a new map,  Though this is true for using the commandline arguments in steam and Origin also.

In my experience this requires you to name the file User.cfg NOT user.cfg and place the .cfg in the install directory of the game.

Thanks for the information, changing user.cfg for User.cfg the game already detects the configuration.

    for me still work.

Check if you have anything entered in the properties of the BF2042 game in EA APP. This field should be empty.
