FYI i figured out how to fix it, verify your game files. i had 22 files fail to validate and redownload and now i dont have the issue.

Summarize your bug I keep getting kicked out of the game due to easy anti cheat failing. This started after the new 1.2 patch that released on 08/02/22.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? STR: 1. Launch BF2042 via Steam 2. Start any multiplayer match (I was playing conquest 64) 3. Enter any chopper and start shooting at infantry (it almost immediately happens when shooting at other players from chopper). Results: Loading menu appears > player returns to main menu
What happens when the bug occurs? Loading menu appears > player returns to main menu
What should be happening instead? Easy anti-cheat does not kick player out of match when not cheating.

Have you tried verifying steam game files, is steam overlay turned off?

I looked it up and it seems to be an error with the new Multiverse game. But I still don't get dropped or kicked out when playing that game. This only happens with Battlefield 2042. It also doesn't matter what mode or level I'm playing in. I get kicked out within 2 minutes of playing BF2042 each and every time.
oh and I haven't switched off the steam overlay. But I don't want to. I know this is a new issue because I've been playing almost every day since the game launch and I've never seen the anti-cheat message until this new patch.
