I found this thread because I was having the same issues as everyone else. I updated the drivers on the Xbox Accessories app and my controller still acted up in-game(start button was crouch, couldn't aim left or right, etc). The only solution I've found is to connect your controller directly to your PC with a USB C adapter. It worked for me.
If anyone has found a way to use an Xbox controller wirelessly in BF 2042 on PC, please let me know

If you try to deploy to a vehicle you won't be able to zoom at all afterward you have to die to reset and when throwing grenades you'll notice that you can't hold it down it just throws it. This happens every single time after deploying directly to a vehicle at least for me I can't attest to what your experience is. I am really frustrated with this game. I want to like it but it's trying its hardest to make it very hard for me to play and I refuse to go back to using a keyboard and mouse.
Yep, firmware and everything is up to date.
The vehicle zoom problem could be a setting problem. You could have a problem with one of the vehicle zoom settings. The grenade problem also sounds like it could be a settings issue. Take a look. I'm just brainstorming, I'm not an expert; it's literally my first time posting on here.
Trust me it’s the game! If I deploy to any vehicle then afterwards I lose regular functionality and I have to die and then deploy to a regular objective to get all my functionality back.
Using a Razer Wolverine TE and that doesn't work for this game, either. Works fine on BFV and any other game.
This is pretty ridiculous given the game has been out this long and it still does not work natively. The only way people seem to get it working, haphazardly at that, is using a third party platform. That is purely unacceptable.
While I understand there may a minority of players on PC who like to use a controller for some things (flying for me, for example), this issue should have been escalated from DAY ONE.

If it pops up to sign into origin then sign in and it should work.
This is the fix i used back in November and havent played the game since. Thinking of getting back into it so thought i would pop by and see if they fixed it. Obviously not
