A Battlefield Player's Feedback & Impressions from the BF6 Beta

To the Dev Team, first off, thanks for the beta invite. As a long-time player, I was incredibly excited to get a chance to experience the future of Battlefield. I've put almost 40 hours into the beta and wanted to share my most direct feedback on what's working and what desperately needs to be addressed before launch. My thoughts are broken down into two main sections: Infantry and Vehicles.

Infantry Feedback

  1. The CQB TTK on some guns (M433, M4A1) is way too fast. You need to scrap that first damage drop-off model that gives them an insane BTK up close. It just feels cheesy and removes any chance for a skill-based gunfight.
  2. The AK-205 is straight-up useless in the current meta. It needs a serious buff to its effective damage range to even stand a chance.
  3. Infantry movement feels super clunky. I'm constantly getting snagged on random pebbles and debris on the ground.
  4. Infantry movement has way too much inertia. It feels really sluggish and "sticky," like you're constantly walking through mud.
  5. The ADS speed is painfully slow across the board. This makes all the guns feel super heavy and cumbersome to handle.
  6. Player models are bugging out. Sometimes they just start twitching or jittering randomly, which completely throws off your aim.
  7. The sprint speed feels way too slow, like we're back in BF1/V. We need that classic BF3/4/2042 speed (6.5m/s) back. Trying to rotate on these big maps at 6.05m/s is a total slog.
  8. The transitions between sprinting, ADSing, and vaulting aren't smooth and feel disconnected.
  9. Don't nerf the movement anymore. Sliding is already weak, and the overall movement skill gap is tiny. A low TTK combined with nerfed movement just creates a camper's paradise. If anything, you should bring back classic movement mechanics like proper strafe-jumping and peeker's advantage.
  10. Get rid of the sniper "sweet spot" mechanic. It just encourages hill-humpers to sit at the back of the map and do nothing. If you have to keep it, make it a close-range thing for aggressive recon players, like it was in BF4.
  11. The death sound effect is ridiculously loud. I literally jump every time I get killed. It makes dying way more frustrating than it needs to be.
  12. The whole in-game UI/HUD is a complete mess.
    • HUD: We need a classic Battlefield HUD where all my ammo info (current mag and reserve) is in one spot. Splitting it up into tiny boxes is a terrible design choice.
    • Placement: Move the ammo/health info closer to the center of the screen. Right now, it's practically falling off the bottom-left edge and the font is tiny. Just put the health bar right there with the ammo where we can actually see it.
    • Kill Feed: Let us move the kill feed to the bottom-center. Where it is now, I barely notice it, especially in a vehicle.
    • Game State: The objective status and ticket count need to be right above the minimap where they belong.
    • Style: You should look at bringing back an "immersive" UI. Give the HUD a slight tilt and some inertia so it moves with you, like you're wearing a helmet. The flat, static UI just feels cheap. 2042 got a lot wrong, but its HUD was miles better than this.
  13. Let us zoom the minimap out to 200%. 100% is not nearly enough for situational awareness on these maps.

Vehicle Feedback

  1. Ground vehicles handle like boats. The acceleration is sluggish, turret traverse is painfully slow, and trying to reverse out of a tight spot on these cluttered maps is a nightmare.
  2. Vehicles have way too much momentum. Ground vehicles slide forever when you try to stop, and jets can't pull up in time after a bombing run.
  3. MBT splash damage is a joke. I'm landing shells right next to infantry and it's barely tickling them.
  4. The first-person camera in vehicles is bugged; you can't look around at all.
  5. The vehicle camera controls are messed up. In third-person, right-clicking zooms you into a 2x first-person view, and you can't get back to the third-person view from the 2x first-person zoom.
  6. There's no "Vehicle Disabled" indicator on the HUD. You just stop moving and have to guess why, usually right before you explode.
  7. The AA is completely defenseless against infantry and its anti-air capability is terrible. It should have basic self-defense capabilities before talking about air defense. The lock-on range is shorter than a Stinger, and you only get 6 rounds? It's a dedicated AA vehicle; it should be the undisputed king of the sky, not worse than one infantry guy with a launcher.
  8. The jets and choppers handle even worse than the ground vehicles. It honestly feels like you're flying a brick.
  9. The jet cannon TTK is way too fast. There's no room for actual dogfighting; it's just whoever gets the first shot wins.
  10. Why does the attack heli pilot only get 7 rockets? It's weirdly asymmetrical and feels way too low. It should be 8 at a minimum.
  11. Stinger lock-on range is insane. On Liberation Peak, you can get locked on from the enemy spawn. The whole AA balance is backwards. AA vehicles should be the primary threat to air, not one dude with a Stinger. Buff the AA vehicles and rein in the launchers.
  12. Liberation Peak needs more vehicles. Each team needs at least one or two more heavy armor to make the round flow better.

You guys have a solid foundation to build on, but these fundamental issues absolutely need to be ironed out if BF6 is going to live up to the legacy of the series.

Thanks for the opportunity to play and for listening to the community. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes you make for the final release.😁
