Anyone else playing open weapons despite preferring closed weapons?

Question

Low population (let alone a population of sweatier competition) breeds less clicks breeds lower population breeds less clicks breeds lower population so on so forth. Closed weapons is how the game should be, but unless you put the entire game population into it, it won't work out.

The general population will always take the path of least resistance, even if there are better options; which leaves the few people who do select the better option to suffer.

I've been playing open just to get the challenges. I'm not gonna run around with a sniper rifle in these tiny maps just to get 300 pings so I equip my assault rifle and play as normal.

I would prefer closed but as it stands atm everyone in closed uses the smgs and carbines which makes for a worse experience vs open lol

You can just setup the M4 and SGX to just replace any class specific weapon defeating the whole point

Unless they better balance weapons to remain within their strength and weaknesses it’s a flawed system.

I too prefer closed weapons but have played the open weapons maps because, partly to do some of the challenges but also because the maps and other mechanics basically just promote running and gunning. With the exception of maybe liberation peak, and that depends on your play style a little more, why would you choose anything other than an smg? You can melt people at short and mid range.&nbsp;
