Battlefield 6 feedback: SLOW IT DOWN

After playing BF3 and BF4 for countless hours, and now playing the Battlefield 6 beta, I have some strong thoughts.

  1. SLOW-IT-DOWN. This isn't COD, this is supposed to be a throwback to the above mentioned legendary Battlefield games. Let us play a more nuanced, thoughtful tactical war experience where we can utilise the tools available and having the room to breathe before engaging in fire fights. Running, reload, grenade throws etc etc need serious work to feel more impactful and realistic. I know Battlefield isn't a real life simulator, but it's NOT COD either.
  2. Tanks need to be more weighty, give feedback and not feel like I'm driving a Nissan Leaf.
  3. Slow down unlocks, bring back medals. This may be a beta thing, but after a few games I have pretty much everything and don't feel I want or need to keep playing to level up.
  4. Vehicle add-ons/upgrades - bring them back, please!
  5. Weather effects and dirt/mud on players and weapons. Dynamic weather would be amazing, although not sure how it would affect FPS drops. Also, add grit to players and weapons. If I've been crawling through mud, I want me and my weapon covered in it.
  6. BIGGER MAPS. Again, this is Battlefield, not COD.
  7. Sniping scope glare need to be toned down a lot. Sure, have a small amount to the well trained eye, but not lit up like a Christmas tree.

That's all for now. I think the graphic fidelity and destruction mechanics are great, but seriously, I don't know if I'll be buying in come October if these huge pacing/styling issues aren't changed. I, and many many others want a true Battle-field experience, not you know what DICE.

  • Well said! The number of players on a map and the layout of the map directly translates to the pacing of the game.

I was already worried during the multiplayer reveal that not a word was said about this extremely important subject!

The pacing of the game is way too high. Which leads to shallow temporary fun. I'm already bored with the game after playing for 10 hours...

Either make the maps bigger, although this seems too late to do so...

Or reduce the number of players. For example 20vs20 conquest on a 5 objective map.

This way you give players some room to breath and get creative in how to approach an objective.
