Battlefield is the new Call of Duty.
While the Battlefield 6 open Beta does feel like a good game I have to say it doesn't feel like a battlefield game at all. This is a COD game with vehicles. DICE say they are going back to the roots of what makes battlefield but if anything its a love letter to take COD players. No epic large maps for combined arms warfare or tactical squad play; from my experience playing the Beta this is just mainly tight streets and corridors with quick kill times heck some of the maps are pure infantry maps. Its a really good Call of Duty game but I doubt that most of the old player base will consider it a true battlefield game and that makes me sad. I hope the series doesn't lose it identity because I grew up playing Battlefield and there isn't really another game franchise like it used to be.
Again it is a good game if you like COD but its not battlefield. I'm guessing the whole point is to poach all the players that miss the old Call of Duty, and by doing that and turning it into an arcade shooter you've just forgotten what made battlefield, battlefield.
Please actually go back to form and have some larger maps that implement strategic squad play, right now this is all just running around like a mess and shooting each other like OG COD MW. So I wont be buying this unless I see its an actual battlefield game at launch.
But that's just my opinion, add it to the pile.
