Battlefiled 6 open beta feedback by a laptop gamer.

Hello, on this last day of the open beta, i’ll start by saying that i enjoyed playing it.

I play with a laptop that is an Acer Predator Helios 18 PH18-72. The laptop main system specs are: Nvidia RTX 4080 12 GB, Intel Core i9 14900HX, 32 GB RAM DDR5 5600 Mhz, NVMe PCIe SSD Gen 4, 2560x1600 250 Hz, Windows 11 Home. I play BF6 beta with Steam. No Steam overlay, no Nvidia overlay. I don't usually use overlay playing games. Games run very well on my notebook.

I started playing the week 0ne early access open beta with Nvidia driver 580.88 with poor performance. The GPU was not being used al all. I had FPS drops in the game menu and playing a match. So i unistalled the 580.88 and i decided to reinstall the 577.00 Nvidia driver. With the 577.00 the game was smooth with almost stable FPS. I tried many graphics settings. In custom ultra (no DLSS) settings i had 100/120 FPS in game. With a more competitive settings and with DLSS on quality, i had about 150 FPS. The week one open beta was really good and i enjoyed playing it.

On the 13th, i decided to install the new Nvidia driver, 580.97, and give it a try. With the start of week two, i noticed the same problem with the 580.97 driver as i had with the 580.88. GPU was not used at all, FPS drops in menu/game. So i decided to uninstall the 580.97 and reinstall the 577.00 driver. With the 577 driver week two beta run smooth, but i noticed a drop in performance compared to week one beta performance. In week two my FPS with custom ultra graphics settings are 75/100 and in the same competitive settings i used in the week one my FPS are about 120/140. So there is a performance drop in week two compared to week one. An my questioni s why? Is this an Nvidia driver performance problem? Is there some problem with Nvidia 580 driver series? For BF6 beta the best Nvidia driver for my system are the 577 version. That said, anyway i enjoyed playng beta week two.

I played most in conquest. I like weapon locked game mode. The classes are good. I played Assault on the week one. I played the other three classes in this the week two. I enjoyed playing more Assault and Support, especially the medic gives me very satisfactions. I think the Assault shotgun must be nerfed. I think the time to kill (TTK) is good. A few shots at short range, more at long range. Server permitting.

I have a good internet connection and playing the beta i noticed my in game ping was good enough. Most high ping i noticed i had was 41. Most match i have played in a range between 20 and 35. Even with a good ping, sometimes it seems my bullets don’t hit the right body target. Is this a related servers problem?

Playing the game, i noticed two strange things, maybe two bugs. If i set a custom graphics setup with no AA (experimental), i had sometimes some artifact on the screen. One time, playing a game my audio was gone in the middle of the match. I had to restart the game to make the audio work again.

That said, i enjoyed playing the beta. There are things to fix for the final release. I hope we have a good and clean final release this October. I hope we have an Nvidia stable and good driver release for the Battlefield 6 final release. I hope we have good servers stability for the game to play with.
