Feels like assault is a worse engineer with the grenade launchers, and it doesn’t offer anything else to the squad. Separate support into medic so people that actually want to revive can play medic, remove assault. Bring back the mortar for support.
The Assault class doesn't offer much because the grenade launchers are underpowered right now. They should be a relatively powerful weapon against dug in infantry via a decent amount of splash damage within a certain radius, which they simply are not at this time. You can fire a 40mm grenade right next to somebody and it will only do marginal damage instead of outright killing that player.
