Class and TTK Balancing
I understand that the plan is for the spawn beacon to move from Recon to assault, but I don't think that goes far enough in balancing the current class system. Here are my suggestions to better balance the classes:
- Remove the second primary weapon slot for assault and give it to Recon. Limit the available weapons for the second primary to PDW/SMGs or shotguns.
- The auto injector for assault feels pointless. Eliminate it or open it to all classes. Then give Assault med packs and medical resupply like BF4. I was an Army Combat medic in real life. This is a better fit.
- Have Support provide ammo resupply only. Give medical to assault.
- Move spawn to Assault as planned.
- Minimize scope glint for Recon and increase ADS for scopes with a larger penalty for higher magnification.
- Make the Carbine set the Engineers primary weapon set. PDW/SMG, DMR, and Shotgun should be the open sets.
Time to kill is also an issue. Headshots from any weapon should be a kill. Let the bonus remain for Recon sniper headshots to be fatal and non revivalable. Here are some other suggestions for TTK. I don't know what EA is using from mapping shot placement, just to be clear. So I have seperated it by head v body. We just covered head (all kills). For everything else I offer approximate TTK knowing that weapons within those classes should have some variance (e.g.- M4 is three shot TTK w/in 100 yds, AK-74u is 4 shot TTK w/in 100 yds).
- The Assault rifle and carbine classes should be an approximate three shot kill within 100 yds. With assault rifles maintaining that to 200 yds. Then both should be approximately four shots to any part past their perspective ranges (>100yds carbine and >200yds assault rifle)
- The DMR should be approximately two shot kill to the body within 200 yds and three beyond that.
- The LMGs should be approximately three shot kills at all ranges. The obvious accuracy fall off at longer ranges already mitigates LMG effectiveness at range.
- PDWs/SMGs and Handguns should be four shots within 30 yds, and five shots out to 100 yds. Beyond that the SMG should require approximately 6 shots.
- Shotguns seems about right. I know some people don't like that, but I think the issue with the shotgun isn't power, but handling. The handling seems too easy. Combat shotguns like the M1014 are bulky, heavy and not as easy to use for CQB like some might think. I think the shotguns should have slower mechanics to operate. Reloading is about right with mechanics.
- Sniper rifles should be one shot, one kill to the body beyond 500yds. This reflects the optimal velocity of the cartridges. Plus, for balancing these kills are only going to happen on larger maps. If this creates issues with too many "trophy hunters" not playing the objective, then revert to current system.
