Class Balance doesn't work, possible re-work idea

Firstly, Assault is just if they made the average CoD player into a class type so it needs to be changed to be more in line with Assault from BFV and BF1. Engineer would become similar to the Support class of previous games focusing on replenishing ammo and repairing vehicles. Support would take the role of the Medic class having access to healing but also gaining the grenade launcher for more smoke grenades to better support the overall team. Recon is honestly the only class that doesn't really need a re-work all it does need is to keep the respawn beacon as that is a core aspect of the class.

Re-work for Assault:

  • Take away assault rifles instead give them access to submachine guns as their primary weapon
  • Give them anti-tank weaponry much like BF1 and take it away from engineer

These simple changes would allow Assault to stay as the aggressive frontline class while also giving it a purpose for existing as right now Assault is simply for K/D warriors with no real purpose in the game.

Re-work for Engineer:

  • Take away submachine guns and give them access to lightmachine guns instead for their primary weapons
  • Give them access to ammo supplies and allow them to keep vehicle repairing gadgets
  • Remove all anti-tank weaponry to have them fit more in-line with the support role

These changes aim at making engineer a more support like role from previous games like BFV and BF1 instead of it's role in BF4/BF3.

Re-work for Support:

  • Take away lightmachine guns and replace them with assault rifles for their primary weapons
  • Remove ammo supplies and give them access to the grenade launcher and allow them to keep their medic supplies

This would help support become more like the medic class and change it from being a combination of ammo and healing. On top of that giving it ARs would help the support class be more competitive in gunfights and the grenade launcher would help the support get revives more frequently.

Re-work for Recon

  • Allow recon to maintain the respawn beacon instead of giving it to assault

Recon is in a good spot and doesn't really need any change at this moment, it serves it's role just fine. The only thing I would change is allowing recon to keep the respawn beacon rather than just giving it to assault for no good reason.

Once again these are all just my opinions but I think these re-works/re-balances could help the game see more class variety as well as help the classes have a more distinct identity.

  • I don't like this at all, but it is kind of within the theme of BF2's 7 classes.

  • I like most of what you lay down.

Definitely a yes for the assault, their class should have an aggressive response for most of whats to come. Since assault has 2 slots for primary weapons, their second choice should vary between shotgun, RPG, so on..... keep its current gadget selection

I'm on the fence about making assault rifles the primary for medics but I think i would rather see them have the spawn beacon. Since they are are trying to keep everyone alive, they should be the ones to set beacons on safe areas ( medic tent)

Love the engineer, that way they can focus more on suppressing rather then vehicle hunting. Even more so if they bring the mortars backs, keep the mines so they have a passive way to hinder enemies. They'll fortify positions

Now for recon, my favorite class I agree, recon doesn't really need much changes, I don't mid losing the beacon since it seems they are going to make them more stealthy. That being the case it would allow players to either sit back or scout ahead. Insta kill would solve the issue with kill cam and its current gadgets would allow recon to scout ahead and assassinate, flank, flush, or even sabotage (c4) the enemy.

Let me know what you think of the changes I made. Great idea about reworking the classes roles
