Changing the class weapons would take away from the core of what Battlefield is. Medics using snipers makes no sense — they already don't heal as much as they should, and they’re meant to be up front supporting the team, not hiding in the back with a sniper rifle. The Assault class is fine the way it is. Engineer SMGs also make sense since engineers usually stay near vehicles, and having a fast-firing weapon is useful for defending them in close-quarters situations.
Yes, I meant you shouldn't be nudged to play sniper with medic. Right now, there's not much difference among classes regarding weapon advantage.
