Current class system is a huge mistake....

The Engineer should not be both a vehicle repair guy as well as anti-vehicle guy. The anti-vehicle role should go the Assault. This was fixed in BF1/BFV.

The current Support class with healing+revive+ammo is an even bigger blunder. Remember medic trains from BF4? This will that on steroids.

The complete solution was always there from BF1/BFV, no need to re-invent it just because everyone is nostalgic with BF4.

Medic - SMG with heals/revives

Support - LMG with ammo/repairs

Assault - AR with stim/rockets

Recon - Sniper rifles with beacon/tugs etc.

  • I disagree with literally everything in this post, the engineer has always been the vehicle focused class (as its name states) vehicle repair+destruction is literally the core identity of the class

  • Same here, I'm okay with assault being able to deal dmg but destroying vehicles should stay with engineer class. If anything they should add explosives dmg increase to them.

  • Best class system was in Battlefield 3 and 4

    Now assualt looks like call of duty Rambo

    This is not a good take.

    If anything, Engineer could have offensive anti-vehicle capabilities split into an Anti-Tank class and get landmines to take a more defensive role.

    Assault can already run double primaries as we've seen; adding rockets to that would be beyond broken.

    Actually the second weapon slot is being removed so adding the launcher with limited ammo could work (needs bullet drop to be exaggerated).

    Engineer should be the only one with passive and long range anti vehicle capabilities.

    My only gripe with class design besides open weapons being default is assault. It feels pointless to play.

    Here's a half-decent middle ground idea. Make other class sub categories (like the field medic that we have in beta) be focused around different fields.

    Some ideas:

    -assault: removes the 2nd primary weapon option for a mid tier anti-armor tool.

    -Medic: removed auto heal/re-arm box for a faster healing only box. 

    -Recon: Replace motion sensor with an auto smoke on detection or proximity.

    -Support: Buff vehicle you're in with slightly better armor/passive heal (VERY SLOW)? I dunno.

    These aren't to replace what is currently there, but to be another sub category when picking you're loadout. Again just ideas, not actual things I want.
