I was about to create the exact same feedback thread; please can this feature be brought back! I found it very frustrating in the spawn menu having to chase my squad mate’s numbered icons whilst they’re sprinting around the map, remember what number they are and what class they’ve chosen. It’s so much easier to have a quick glance to see your friends’ gamertags, who’s running what class, then being able to quickly select your safest squad mate to spawn on.
