Explosives Spam in Close Quarters – Will BF6 Address This?

Across choke-point maps and interior fights like Metro, building corridors, tunnels, and other tight spaces, matches often devolve into nonstop grenade, rocket, and UCAV spam. Is EA considering any balance changes in BF6 to reduce this? For example, increasing grenade reloads to 2 minutes or time in between uses?

Honestly curious, the explosive spam has been a major buzzkill across your games, and it’d be reassuring to know whether BF6 will handle it differently.

  • I'm pretty sure there's some people that actually enjoy the chaos that a map with chokepoints gives you. Why else would you even make maps that have chokepoints.

It's ultimately a simple matter of not adding any maps like Metro to the game. Another solution would be map or gamemode specific modifiers, that would increase the reload times of all explosives.

I'm against a flat increase in reload times for all maps/gamemodes though. In the vast majority of the maps, having explosives readily available doesn't cause issues and is part of the fun.

  • the reload speed with an ammo box is slow, so it's not that problematic for the flow of a match

the B flag of Siege of Cairo is heavily contested, and it was not as spammed as the maps of past games (comparatively speaking)
