As someone who played quite a bit of 2042, at least later during the game's run after it's horrendous launch and once it FINALLY got its footing. (what little footing it has) A lot of the issues you detailed are being carried over from 2042. The issues with CQC, the fragility of the vehicles, the narrow maps, janky melee combat, I've seen it all in 2042. It's some of the things I was REALLY hoping they'd fix. I started in BF1 and the melee felt easier to accomplish, plenty of bayonet charges in my time. The real problem I've noticed is that when CQC becomes the focus, and when the guns are open, the shotgun rules supreme.
